Welcome to the second part of your yearly review. If you haven’t done the first part, click here to go back and begin your yearly review. If you’re here to continue your review, make sure your pen and paper are ready with you. Let’s go!

In this second part, we review the relationships we have made, retained or ended in 2018. Relationships with others are one of the important factors in our lives. Relationships, good ones, nurture us, make us better, make us calmer.

Remember the first crush you had and everything in the world was rosy and beautiful? Bad relationships can also devour us, consume us, spitting out our bones.

1. What are the top 3 most important relationships in your life which improved in 2018?

Life is about the relationships we have forged. We reflect on the top 3 most important which improved in 2018. Which relationship improved? Was it with a long lost friend? A client or the pizza delivery guy that you have been spending more time with? A new mentor who introduced you to awesome products?

What was the things that helped to improve the relationship? Was it a call (well duhh..  in the case for the pizza guy) or message to say hi? Sometimes we don’t know how important a message could be for the other party, just by stopping in and checking on them.

2. Who are the top 3 people who had the greatest impact on you in 2018?

Greatest impact could mean both negative and positive impact. Who made the biggest impact in your life? It could be a new work colleague who skydives  and encouraged you to take a new leap, or a “friend” who introduced you to bad habits that you are ashamed to talk about.

A negative or positive impact affects our lives in more ways than one. Don’t minimise the effect someone could have on you. As the butterfly effect goes, something small now could result in something big later.

3. Who are the top 5 people in your life that you are spending time with in 2018?

Spend some time to review your list of top 5 people and see if that person has a negative or positive impact in your life. It is said that you are the average of the 5 people you spend most of your time with.

People are also easily influenced, in particular with the people they spend time with. How do they influence you? Ae they negative Nancy’s, discouraging or putting you down, bullying you or destroying your self worth or are they Positive Polly’s who brings you to new heights, encourage you to succeed and achieve your goals and builds you with self confidence?

How have they influenced you the past year? How has this shaped your outlook to life, your thoughts, your opinions?

Pay close attention to the people around you and what they bring to your relationships with them. Surround yourself with people you aspire yourself to be, people who you would want to become and the influence they will have on you.
