Step 1: Decontaminating the wheel surface to prepare for ecocoat wheel
Sufficient chemical bonding of any ceramic coating layer is important to ensure coating longevity. Ensure that the wheels are clean from buildups and other contaminants before cracking open the bottle of ecocoat wheel. We highly recommend decontaminating all involved surface with ecoclean iron to remove any rust or brake dust. Last but not least, please keep a steady temperature during ecocoat wheel application, preferably between the range of 20-26°C (68-78.8°F).
Step 2: Applying ceramic coating to the wheel surface with ecocoat wheel
Installing ecocoat wheel, our self-cleaning and brake dust resistant wheel coating, is pretty straightforward. Once you’re done with decontamination and cleaning, move on to Step 2. Just make sure your ceramic coating applicator is suitable for those rims with tight spaces between the spokes. Keeping the liquid inside your ecocoat wheel bottle unstirred, you can follow these key steps to applying ecocoat wheel.
- Drip ecocoat wheel onto your applicator, a few drops should suffice for a 3 x 3 feet area
- Apply lightly onto the rims, going in vertical and horizontal motions over the surface to overlap the coated areas
- Wait for 2-5 minutes or until there’s a small resistance then you can buff off the coated wheel surface
- Depending on your usage of heat lamps, give the coating 1-2 hours to cure before applying the second layer
- Using a fresh applicator, follow steps 1 through 3 again for the second layer application
- You’re done with ecocoat wheel!
